The Company:
The Bending Lake Iron Group has acquired the deposit for the
purposes of producing Merchant Pig Iron (MPI). We would employ a
process known as Ironmaking Technology Mark Three. It is a unique process
that produces a high quality iron nugget product that contains essentially
pure iron and carbon. This process technology is available from Kobe Steel.

The term
“pig iron” arose from the old method of casting blast furnace iron into
moulds arranged in sand beds such that they could be fed from a common
runner. The group of moulds resembled a litter of suckling pigs, the ingots
being called “pigs” and the runner the “sow”.
Mission Statement
“A
supplier of Merchant Pig Iron (MPI) for the domestic marketplace, that
values and practices professionalism, integrity, honesty, ethical business
practices and creates jobs, while addressing stakeholders’ needs for
sustained growth, profitability and aggressive performance.”
Vision
“To be the
leading, low-cost manufacturer of Merchant Pig Iron (MPI) in North America
by producing a high quality product, at the same time as delivering new,
