The Company:

The Bending Lake Iron Group (BLIG) is positioning the company to make the highest and best use of the ore body and available technology to bring its iron products to the steelmaking markets.

The most recent NI 43-101 Independent Report confirms;

185.2 Million Tonnes Indicated at an average in-situ grade of 29.59% Magnetite

151.4 Million Tonnes Inferred at an average in-situ grade of 30.38% Magnetite

For a total of 336.6 Million Tonnes with an average grade of 29.99% Magnetite

Efforts are now underway to position the Bending Lake Iron Group to take advantage of long-term market opportunities.  Until recently the Company focused on a single form of value-added iron product, merchant pig iron.  However the market and pricing studies confirmed that the production of pellets would provide a significant financial and operational advantage to Bending Lake.

2010 Work

The Bending Lake Property consists of 93 contiguous, unpatented mining claims  comprised  of  1,318  units covering  20,636  hectares,  60  freehold  patents  covering  903 hectares and 3 Mining Licenses of Occupation (MLO) which allow mining rights under water bodies for 25 of the freehold patents, for a total land area of 21,537 hectares.  The unpatented mining claims are optioned to Bending Lake Iron Group Ltd from Windigo Ridge Resources without underlying  royalties.   Bending Lake also has completed rights to first refusal agreements  on another 11 freehold patents  and the unpatented mining claims.

Iron Nugget and Steel Market

The term “pig iron” arose from the old method of casting blast furnace iron into moulds arranged in sand beds such that they could be fed from a common runner.  The group of moulds resembled a litter of suckling pigs, the ingots being called “pigs” and the runner the “sow”.
